If you need to improve your credit score, don't worry - you're not alone! Plenty of home buyers are in a similar situation. I'd like to share a few tips with you on how to get started.
The first step is to get a free credit report. This way, you know where your score stands, and you can make sure the report is accurate and up-to-date. I recommend www.CreditKarma.com it's a Great Resource! If you see any errors or questionable items, contact the credit bureau right away so you can get them fixed!
If your score is lower than you'd like, there are several things credit bureaus recommend doing to raise it, but the biggest one is tackling any existing debt you have. Since scores are largely determined on a debt-to-income ratio, the less debt you have, the better. A financial advisor will be a big help in the process, and I'm happy to recommend a few if you're not already in touch with one.
Please let me know if you'd like more info, or if I can help connect you with a local financial advisor.
